My Bio

Personal Statement

We all need support in one form or fashion during difficult times in our lives.  Counseling can be an important asset when facing difficult times, learning about self and paying it forward.  In addition, being mindful of our feelings and responses can be cumbersome at times.  However, practicing skills in counseling has made an impact not only on my personal life but also my professional career.

While in undergraduate at Tennessee Technological University, I became interested in the field of psychology.  I then furthered my studies and received a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Argosy University.  Prior to become a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I worked with Department of Children’s Services (DCS); Mediation Services of Putnam/ Overton County; and Upper Cumberland Community Services Agency (UCCSA).   In total, I bring eleven (11) years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults to the agency.

I have broad professional experience with children 3 years old and older, adolescents, and adults.  I strive to help families and individuals to restore harmony in the home, to promote positive parenting techniques, and to resolve symptoms of anxiety and depression.   I do so through the use of a wide range of techniques such as, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Recovery (EMDR).

In the middle of every difficulty lies an opportunity. –Albert Einstein
